Whether you aim to become a professional musician, producer, composer, manager, promoter, or haven’t decided yet, this course is designed for you.
The intensive 6 month Music Business course intertwines three principle modules which work holistically together. This truly innovative course will empower you with confidence and knowledge across diverse skills including technology and production, legal, marketing and entrepreneurship.

How Music Works (15hrs per week)
This module give you a 360 degree scope of the 21st century music business landscape.
The core course module that equips successful students with an ability to plot A&R strategies relevant to self-release, indie or major in a world which in 2014 has just seen the first streaming-only chart topper.
You will develop skills to contextualise key aspects such as:
musical and artistic influences; the panorama of music history; leading-edge production and mastering including weekly sessions in a professional recording studio; Industry standard file delivery and meta-data/tag embedding; royalty and revenue streams; contracts; shifting trends in social media; digital aggregation; performance; remote collaboration.
Principles of Marketing (8hrs per week)
Gone are the days when the only option for getting your music heard relied upon the support from a limited number of gatekeepers; Echo Factory provides artistes and entrepreneurs alike with the skills required to thrive in today’s music industry.
Leave nothing to chance; get to grips with the nitty-gritty of contemporary music marketing.
Music may well be the universal language but it’s vital to let ‘the suits’ get in on the act.; jargon-busting tutorials designed to demystify the science (and buzz-words) are just one way in which this module will provide you with the tools, terms and industry practices to take on ‘the biz’.
You’ll also examine case-studies of established acts, work closely with up and coming ‘project artists’ and, ultimately, create your own active marketing plan.
Entrepreneurship (7hrs per week)
The entrepreneurship module is specifically designed to help you to combine your creativity with real world business skills and knowledge.
You will have the opportunity to develop your own business plan, and you will learn some of the techniques that can turn an idea into a successful career or business. You will gain lots of practical experience exploring a number of real businesses, and practice key techniques that can be applied to a variety of ideas, businesses and industries, and in particular to the Music industry.
Successful students will have gained a rare combination of skills, experience, and knowledge that will increase the chance of success in the world of music, entertainment, or any other industry.
